The SK200-001 Energy Management Kit is a stand-alone system for controlling HVAC units based on occupancy detection.

Included in this system:

SD200-001

Master Sensor & Controller (Motion-based). The SD200-001 consists of a high sensitivity passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor and microprocessor with intelligent logic control software in an aesthetically pleasing housing. It should be mounted on the wall or ceiling (corner mount recommended) to detect human presence by sensing the movement of body heat energy. In addition to this, it also provides various operation settings and component connections of the system.

To avoid the room becoming too hot or too cold during an unoccupied period (which would require excessive time and energy to cool down or warm up), the SD200-001 features high and low temperature limiting. The HVAC unit is activated if the room exceeds the set range.

SE200-001 Door Switch: To be recess mounted on the frame of entry door. It will report open/closed status of the door. Once the door is opened, the system will enter into a "standby" mode while attempting to detect human presence. If motion is detected, the SD200-001 (Master Sensor & Controller) will verify the room as "occupied," and allow for the HVAC unit to operate.
SF200-001 Power Pack: This provides 24 VDC power supply for the SD200-001 and also controls the operation of the HVAC unit.

So, how does this work?

  1. If the room is vacant, the system will be in Standby Mode. The HVAC system does not operate in this mode.
*While in Standby Mode, the temperature sensor in the SD200-001 measures the room temperature ever 5-minutes. When the room temperature becomes higer or lower than the high/low temperature limit settings, the HVAC unit will automatically operate until the room temperature is back within range.
  2. If any sensors installed detect movement during Standby Mode, the system will enter into Occupied Mode. In Occupied Mode, the user can operate the HVAC system.
  3.  Whenver the door is opened, the system will detect it and enter into Door-Open Mode. If the door is left open for more than 5 minutes, the system will shut off the HVAC unit until the door is closed.
  4. Once the door is closed, the system will enter into Delay Mode. During this 10 second period, the system will remain in it's original mode.
  5. After the 10 second delay, the system will enter into Waiting Mode. If any of the sensors detect movement during Waiting Mode, the system will enter into Occupied Mode. If no movement is detected within 5 minutes, the system will revert to Standby Mode, shutting off the HVAC unit.
