The SK200-002 Energy Management Kit is a stand-alone system for controlling HVAC units based on occupancy detection. This system utilizes occupancy sensing technology and sophisticated logic control software to verify the occupancy status of rooms. When a room is physically occupoed, the system will allow the occupant to operate the HVAC system. When vacant, the SK200-002 system will automatically shut off unnecessary HVAC operation to reduce energy consumption.

Included in this system:

  • SD200-002 Master Sensor & Controller (Time Based)
  • SF200-001 Power Pack
SD200-002

Master Sensor & Controller (Time-based). The SD200-002 consists of a high sensitivity passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor and microprocessor with intelligent logic control software in an aesthetically pleasing housing. It should be mounted on the wall or ceiling (corner mount recommended) to detect human presence by sensing the movement of body heat energy. In addition to this, it also provides various operation settings and component connections of the system.

To avoid the room becoming too hot or too cold during an unoccupied period (which would require excessive time and energy to cool down or warm up), the SD200-001 features high and low temperature limiting. The HVAC unit is activated if the room exceeds the set range.

SF200-001 Power Pack: This provides 24 VDC power supply for the SD200-001 and also controls the operation of the HVAC unit.

So, how does this work?

  1. In Standby Mode, the room is vacant. The HVAC unit will not operate under this mode.
*During Standby Mode the SD200-002's built in temperature sensor measures the room temperature. When the room exceeds the setback temperatures, the HVAC unit will turn on to keep the room within the desired temperature window.
  2. When the sensor detects motion, the system enters ON-Delay Mode. This delay allows the system to verify the occupancy status before activating the HVAC unit.
  3. After the ON-Delay expires, the system will enter into a 1-minute waiting period to wait for further detection. If no detection within 1 minute, the system will return to Standby Mode. If the sensor detects motion, the system will enter into Occupied Mode, which begins the OFF-Delay Mode.

  4. OFF-Delay Mode is the time that the HVAC unit remains operating. During this period, any further motion detection will reset the timer.
